My trip to Wyoming!

Traveling has always been a passion of mine, I don't know why but I always had this longing of wanting to see what is out there, see the beauty, the people, the culture, and food.  I always say If I could I would travel all year long, I would literally love to just go around the world and experience life in a different way.   Well now that I have told you how much I love traveling, I want to share with you my trip this year of 2018 to Wyoming, but specifically to Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  I have to tell you this is like a movie, or those frames that you see of mountains, and picturesque skies, Wyoming is really like that.   As the plane was landing in Jackson Hole I was just in disbelief of how beautiful this state is.  The scenic views just leave you in awe.  This trip was more than just views for me, I also had a spiritual moment with someone who I had just met on this trip.  I always say everything happens for a reason, and things that are not planned are the best.  This trip that I went to was a work trip for my husband, and he told me just a few weeks before If I wanted to come on a work trip with him because it was going to be a QBR (quarter business review) it was the first work trip I would attend.  And of course you know I said yes, I did however,  had to find out if I received chemo that week with my oncologist, and I was fortunate to not receive chemo on that week.  So the adventure began the second day we arrived to Wyoming.  We stayed at the Snake River Lodge in Jackson Hole, the hotel and the area was just amazing.  I absolutely enjoyed their decor, especially their firewood tables they had outside the hotel for you to sit with a group or alone.  They had free coffee every morning, and free appetizers in the afternoon, you know I enjoyed this very much, I mean who doesn't love food!

Well before I continue about the food and scenic views, let me tell you about my spiritual experience with someone who became a lifetime friend for me.  She is the wife of my husband's co-worker.  We stuck together throughout the trip, and had many conversations.  Some of those conversations had to do about my diagnosis with Cancer, my spiritual journey, meditation and so much more.  It was in these conversations I learned my new friend Diane is a Reiki healer, and does feng shui, but also chinese astrology.  It was a wonderful feeling for me when I learned she was a Reiki healer because I for a while wanted to see a Reiki healer and here I was with someone whom I had just met telling me she would do it on me right in my hotel room.  Reiki if you are not aware is a spiritual practice that is done basically by putting your hands on the affected area of the individual and transferring healing energy through your hands.  It was such an amazing experience, and she was also able to do Chinese astrology in which she writes down a question you might have about your career, life, or business.  This I have to say was one of my favorite parts on the trip.

Now let's go into the places and adventures I got to experience on this trip.  We basically visited three different places, which I highly recommend if you ever think of visiting this beautiful state.  Our first trip was to Jenny Lake, and Teton Mountains.  If you love nature then this is the place for you.  We went on slow river water rafting, and it was a magnificent experience to be able to view the mountains and pine trees while on the water.  We saw beautiful birds, and later on went on a picnic by the river.  If you decide to go to Wyoming during the month of September the temperature is just perfect in around the 40s and 30s.  Make sure you bundle up if you go in September.  Another great and unbelievable experience was on our last day in Wyoming which was horseback riding at Teton Village, and that was 1 minute away from our hotel.  We went up the mountain in our horses and it was a slow ride which I enjoyed the slow pace.  We also went up a tram which takes you 10,000 feet high to the Teton Village Mountain.  Once you arrive up 10,000 feet you are able to have waffles with ice cream at a small restaurant they have up there, but what is more exciting is the view once you are up there, you feel so small when you are confronted with such beauty.  And of course if you like the city life Wyoming also has that for you, and you will definitely enjoy beautiful spots, such as restaurants, cowboy stores, and bars.  This town in the city is called Townsquare, which we were able to go by taking public transportation which was close to our hotel, and only payed $2.  The ride to Townsquare is maybe about 15 minutes from Snake River Lodge.  At Townsquare we went to a bar which is known for its silver dollar coins that are placed at the bar table, and it also has saddle seats.  Now if you are looking for a place to have dinner, then 'The Local' is definitely a must, their service is spectacular, and their food is just delicious.  Since we were a group of 13 people we ordered an array of appetizers which were all delicious.  We had mac and cheese which is to die for, brussel sprouts, elk meat, and buffalo.  Nevertheless, my favorite and maybe that's because Im obsessed with fresh made bread was you guessed right their bread.  We actually ordered their bread 3 times because that is how good it was! So there you go my friends if you are ever looking to have an escape in the United States that is peaceful and filled with adventures then Wyoming will give you all of that and more.  You will have fun if you like water rafting, hiking, bars, and food.  It is definitely a place I would visit again.

What were the symptoms?

What were the symptoms? What did you feel before you found out you had Cancer? I get these questions from people who know me, but also from the nurses who draw my blood before a procedure has to be done.  Usually people ask the question and a second later say 'you know because you are so young'.  My response is usually 'yea you are right especially for Colon Cancer, due to it being more common on people who are 50 years or older.  However, my primary doctor told me in the past 5 years he has seen an increase in younger people being diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Mine is stage IV which you might say 'holy crap, what is your survival rate?'  And when I say stage IV it means that the Cancer did metastasis; in other words it spread to other parts of my body other than the colon.  Usually in Colon Cancer when it spreads it tends to spread to the liver.  So yes mine did spread to my liver.  Can you believe I did not ask my oncologist what is the survival ...

Enjoy the process while in pain

What does it mean to enjoy the process while going through an illness, the loss of a relative, the loss of a job, a home, and so much more.  What does it truly mean to enjoy when death becomes real to you?   I have asked this question to myself for the past 8 months after being diagnosed with Cancer.  So many good answers came out of this, so many good things have come out after being diagnosed with this illness.  In the past I would not have been able to answer this question for you because I was too busy trying to trying to make a future, and was not being present in the moment of it all.  I was too busy trying to speed up the process, instead of enjoying it.  The process in my own words is what we call the journey, the good but also the bad, the trying moments in our lives that we try to escape.  We as humans don't like to feel pain, loneliness, or anything that causes a shift in our lives right?  We escape the process of the 'bad moment...

Taking off the mask: To the unheard dreams, to the unheard cries

This is not easy for me to do because taking off my mask means getting naked, it means to bear my soul out to you.  It also means Im letting you into my light but also my darkness.  You see I know we all wear masks, we all in our solitude, if we do allow ourselves to be alone with our self, our ego, we discover our hidden truths.  Its difficult to confront those things that as humans we all face.  I for a long time was not happy, and when I say happy it does not mean that I didn't love my life or didn't think I was blessed, I just didn't feel fulfilled if that makes sense.  I constantly was preoccupied in my mind with finding my true purpose or my true 'calling'.  And the feeling that comes with not feeling accomplished or successful is not pretty.  You get sad, you feel like a loser, and you think you will never find your true passion.  You question yourself, you say Im I good enough? and then comes comparison, oh look at this person they are so ...
